5 . Housing Allocations Policy

  • To provide the Committee with an overview of the proposed changes to the way the Council allocates affordable rented accommodation through the Housing Register (the waiting list)

  • The overview of the proposed changes between the current Housing Allocations Policy and the draft Housing Allocations Policy 2020 is in the  format of a comparison document. The comparison document is shown in Appendix One.

6 . Housing, Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2017 - 2022

  • The Housing, Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2017-22, developed through consultation with partners, stakeholders and residents, sets out the key issues, challenges and priorities relating to the delivery of housing and housing-related services in the district over the five year period.

  • An annual review is required of the Housing, Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy, with particular focus on the Action Plan. A review was completed of the existing objectives and individual aims, reviewing progress and target completion dates and making any necessary changes in our approach to new or changing challenges and issues we face in the housing and homelessness sector.

9 . Exclusion Of Press And Public

  • If the Committee wishes to consider the remaining item in private, it will be appropriate for a resolution to be passed in the following terms:-

  • “that under Section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972 the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item(s) of  business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined under Paragraphs 1 to 7 of Part I of Schedule 12A to the Act. It has been decided by the Council that in all the  circumstances, the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.”
